In 2023, I (Rodney Bey-Aire) was pulled over while driving on a suspended license due to a lapse of insurance in Maryland. My license was issued in Virginia and I had no idea it was suspended. I stopped paying insurance when my car was repossessed but VA required me to have a SR-22 on file which is issued by an insurance company.

I was unable to attend court because I was working out of state in the Ocean foraging Irish Moss. A bench warrant was issued and I was faced with jail time. I couldn't even travel with my son outside of our community for fear of being arrested and him being taken away.

I began to study the law rigorously and learned the processed of status correction. After undergoing the process, I filed a motion to quash the warrant. Not only was the warrant quashed but all of my traffic cases were mysteriously removed from Maryland's database. Since that time, I haven't been issued any penalty for the status of my license, which i still carry only to avoid being harassed by incompetent parties.
