Sickle Cell Anemia

Our red blood cells are responsible for transporting oxygen through out the body. Oxygen is essential for metabolism, energy production, detoxification, signal transduction, wound healing, brain function and more. In order for the blood cells to take up oxygen, they rely on a protein structure called hemoglobin, which is synthesized by Iron, b12, b6, folic acid, and amino acids.

When you have Sickle Cell Anemia, you have mutated structures of hemoglobin that cause your red blood cells take on a sickle shape and become rigid when oxygen is released. In people with sickle cell anemia, the amino acid "Glutamine" in hemoglobin is replaced by Valine.

To synthesize properly structured hemoglobin, you should incorparate seaweed, mushrooms, fruits, and nuts into your daily food intake. Also, you should cut out inflammatory foods like meat, dairy, and processed sugars that cause oxidative stress on the cells. Take herbs like sarsaparilla, burdock, and dandelion to help the production of hemoglobin and red blood cells.

You can find these herbs in our Father Time/Mother Nature bitters available on our website .
